Kay Rains
Koontz Company is home to Kay considering she interned here while receiving her Interior Design Degree from Florida State University. Prior to her Interior Design studies, she obtained a Bachelor's in Architecture from Florida A & M University. Architecture took her to Houston, Texas where she worked in one of Houston's top 25 architectural firms. She has enjoyed working in both professions in Houston, Texas, Charleston, South Carolina and here in Ocala, Florida where she was born and raised. Here at Koontz, Kay is the head of the Koontz Design Studio handling custom work, fabric, custom draperies, bedspreads, pillows, reupholstering, wall coverings, and faux finishing. Her passion for designing and people are the perfect combination for a pleasurable and productive experience while designing your personal and/or professional environment.
Carol Norris
Carol Norris joined Koontz Furniture & Design in 2015. She studied at Marquette University before graduating from the Harrington Institute of Design in Chicago. With more than 40 years of experience in the architectural and interior design field, Carol brings deep expertise and a genuine passion for helping clients discover exactly what they're looking for. From the smallest detail to the largest project, she approaches every design with care, creativity, and a commitment to seeing it through from start to finish.
Tarra Gray
Relocating from Louisville, Kentucky (to the Horse Capital of the World), Tarra brings with her an outstanding sense of style and great experience. She owned her own design company specializing in new construction, residential interiors, and models, and is a show house winner. Tarra has designed projects from Phoenix to Savannah, and Hilton Head to St. Augustine. She loves to bring fresh new looks to homes and offices while preserving their architectural integrity, and helping her clients achieve their dream.
Barbara Robertson
Barbara was born and raised in Ocala. She spent many years living and traveling abroad but returned to her roots to raise her family. She joined the Koontz Co. family in 2004 and feels she has found where she was meant to be. She loves working with people to help them achieve the look and lifestyle they are after and becoming their friends along the way.
Catherine Walker
We're thrilled to welcome Catherine Walker to the Koontz Furniture and Design consulting team. Recently, coming out of retirement, Catherine brings a wealth of experience in furniture sales and a keen eye for the finest pieces our showroom has to offer. Her career spans decades, including a leadership role with a beauty wholesale supplier, where she honed her skills in management and customer service. Originally from Connecticut, Catherine has called Ocala home for over 30 years. With her impeccable sense of style and deep appreciation for quality furnishings, Catherine is here to help you create a home that reflects your taste, elegance, and individuality.
Linda Petersen Booher
With more than 30 years of high‑end design experience, Linda Petersen Booher brings extraordinary expertise to Koontz Furniture & Design. She founded and directed two successful design firms in Florida and has led multi‑million‑dollar residential and commercial projects throughout South Florida. Linda also served as Dean of Design Programs at The Art Institute of San Antonio and holds a PhD in Education Management, dual Master's degrees in Interior and Architectural Design from SCAD, a BFA from Ringling, and NCIDQ, LEED, and CAPS certifications. Known for her thoughtful approach and deep commitment to clients, Linda loves helping people create spaces that feel personal, elegant, and beautifully lived‑in.

No appointment needed. Walk in any time during showroom hours. If you'd like dedicated time with a specific designer, give us a call and we'll set something up.
Lead times vary by vendor and complexity, typically 6 to 14 weeks for custom upholstery. Your designer will give you a more accurate estimate when you place your order.
Yes. We offer white-glove delivery throughout Ocala and the surrounding Central Florida area. We'll place every piece, set up the room, and remove all packaging.
Please do. A floor plan sketch, room dimensions, and photos of your existing space (or inspiration images) help our designers enormously and make the visit much more productive.
We carry premier brands including Hancock & Moore, Jessica Charles, Lee Industries, American Leather, Century Furniture, Bradington Young, Dovetail Furniture, Hooker Furnishings, Paul Robert, and Theodore Alexander. Our team can special-order from an extensive range of additional makers.
